In this section, we are talking all about our Wisconsin Oak barrels and the effect they have on the spirits within them, particularly with our soon-to-be-released bourbon. So, with that being said, let’s get down to the hard(wood) facts.
Well, the time has finally come – almost. We are set to release Wisconsin Bourbon in just over two months on November 16th and we couldn’t be more excited.

Cedar Creek Winery is located in Cedarburg, Wisconsin, just north of Milwaukee or about a two hour drive East of the vineyards of Wollersheim.
Like much of the Midwest, Wollersheim Winery and Distillery experienced some of the coldest air in recent memory when the temperatures fell far below zero, putting strain on both the vines and crew alike.

Prairie Fumé, the wine that made Wollersheim Winery famous, continues to be a showstopper in the world of international wine competitions, recently receiving various accolades for 2018.
Prairie Fumé earned a Triple Gold and Best of Class at the 2018 Dan Berger International Wine Competition held recently in Santa Rosa, California. There were 1,278 wines entered in this double blind competition judged by 29 esteemed wine judges.
Throughout the state of Wisconsin and the Greater Midwest, many people have come to know the name Wollersheim in the world of winemaking, but chances are that they are less familiar with the extensive history of brandy production on the hillside property.
The Burr Oak, which graces the Wollersheim Winery and Distillery logo, is as much a part of our historic winery as the vines, barrels and cellars. It defines us — so we’re doing our best to save it.
