Wollersheim Winery & Wollersheim Distillery
Saturday, March 4, 2017 | 10 am – 4 pm
Join us for an inside look at our historic hillside winery and our distillery.
Winery & Distillery Tour
Take a walk behind the scenes to explore the distillery’s stills, barrels, and granary and the winery’s modern-day fermentation room and historic underground aging cellars. This complimentary self-guided tour includes tastings and is offered in lieu of our regular winery guided tour and guided distillery tasting.
Wine & Spirits Tasting
While you tour, taste a selection of our wines including our brand new Dry Rosé and our multiple Platinum and Gold medal winner Prairie Fumé along with a couple of our hand-crafted Wisconsin-grown spirits. Our sparkling grape juice is available for the kids.
Winemaker & Distiller Talks
Winemaker Philippe will reflect on aging gracefully for the past 45 years. Celebrate this special milestone during his talk as he offers a look back through the decades and what’s ahead in future decades at the winery and distillery. Hear from Distiller Tom at the distillery to learn about our spirits that are aging in barrels and how they are made with local grains, grapes, and fruits.
Observe pruning techniques for home grapevines as we share what we’ve learned about growing grapes in Wisconsin. The demonstration will begin upstairs in our Vineyard Room and conclude with a visit outside* to our vineyard, where we’ll take you among the vines to show actual pruning. (*Dress for the elements.)
Fun For All Ages
Stops along our self-guided tour will offer unique opportunities to learn about growing grapes,
distilling brandy, and the seasons of our vineyard. Our bottling line will be in action for you to see at the distillery.
Cooking with Wine & Spirits
Hear tips on cooking with wine and spirits and enjoy a taste as Executive Chef Paul Short features our brand new Dry Rosé in his morning demonstration and our Dancehall Absinthe Blanche will be featured in the afternoon.
Food, Wine & Cocktails
Lunch items from local Wyttenbach Meats will be available for purchase from 11am to 3pm. Our wines and cocktails can also be purchased by the glass during the event.
Limited handicapped parking spots are available, or Kehl Road can be used for drop-off. For purchases of 12 or more bottles of wine, our Pick-Up Building in the parking lot will be open for you to retrieve your packed wine.
Note: Regular guided winery tours and wine flight tastings are not offered during our public events.
