Parfrey’s Glen State Natural Area | 20 Minutes from the Winery.
Wisconsin’s first State Natural Area, Parfrey’s Glen is a gorge deeply incised into the sandstone conglomerate of the south flank of the Baraboo Hills. (A State Park sticker is required)

Natural Bridge State Park | 20 minutes west of the Winery via Hwy 12 West.
Natural Bridge and Rock Shelter contains the largest natural bridge known in Wisconsin, created by wind erosion and weathering of the sandstone. (A State Park sticker is required.)

August Derleth Park | 5 minutes from the Winery on Water Street in Sauk City, WI.
Named after the local author, this park is located near on the Wisconsin River and is a great place to fly your kite, or picnic. Connected to the Sauk City bridge by a Bike & Pedestrian Trail.

V.F.W. Memorial Park | 5 minutes from the Winery on Hwy 78 north of Prairie du Sac.
Situated along the Wisconsin River, just below the Prairie du Sac dam with 25 campsites, and shelter with picnic tables and playground equipment.

Highway 60 is named Wisconsin’s 2nd Scenic Byway | Winery is just ¾ of a mile south of Scenic Byway 60.
On April 27th, 2009, Highway 60 was designated as Wisconsin’s 2nd Scenic Byway from Lodi to Prairie du Chien. It includes many historical sites along with numerous rolling hills and picturesque small towns.

Lake Wisconsin | Just minutes from the Winery.
Lake Wisconsin was formed when the hydro-electric dam was built at Prairie du Sac in 1912. Recreation on Lake Wisconsin includes: swimming, water skiing, boating, fishing, and camping. Many lakeside resorts and restaurants are accessible by boat.

The Dam at Prairie du Sac | 5 minutes North of the Winery on Hwy 78.
The Dam at Prairie du Sac is a popular spot on the Wisconsin River the whole year-round. In the summer, you’ll find folks with fishing poles. In winter, it is the perfect feeding area for the region’s population of Bald Eagles. Bring your binoculars, but kindly park and view from your vehicle.

Merrimac Ferry | 20 minutes from the Winery via Hwy 188 North.
The Merrimac Free Ferry is Wisconsin’s only free ferry. It operates 24 hours a day, seven days a week from, April 15th to November 30th. A single crossing of Lake Wisconsin takes about 7 minutes. It can hold 15 vehicles at one time.

Sauk City Riverfront Park and Splash Pad | Across the river from the Winery on 236 Water St.
This park, formerly known as August Derleth Park, underwent many improvements in 2019, including several new irrigated and expanded soccer fields, a new 4,000 square foot multi-age ADA-accessible playground with 75-foot zip line, a new 2,250 square foot splash pad, a concession building with restrooms, and 100 additional parking stalls. The park’s riverfront trail also connects to the Great Sauk State Trail at the top of the hill along Water Street. There also is a new kayak/canoe loading area with an ADA-accessible path leading to the river. saukcity.net
