The Hot Buttered Brandy Cider combines hot apple cider, apple brandy, and spiced butter…and it’s perfect for your holiday celebrations. It will keep you warm all winter long!

Hot Buttered Brandy Cider

  • 1 ½ oz Wollersheim Wisconsin Apple Brandy
  • 1 tablespoon spiced compound butter(see note)
  • 6 oz Apple Cider
  • Garnish: Cinnamon stick, star anise
  • Directions
    1. Add brandy, cider, and compound butter into a sauce pan and heat until the butter has dissolved and the liquid is steaming.
    2. Pour into a heat proof mug.
    3. Garnish with cinnamon stick and/or star anise.

    To make spiced compound butter (this compound butter recipe will make enough for about 20 servings and will keep for several weeks in the refrigerator):

  • 2 cups brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter
  • 3 tablespoons honey
  • 1 tablespoon vanilla extract
  • 1 teaspoon ground nutmeg
  • 1 teaspoon ground allspice
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • Mix all of the ingredients using an electric mixer until everything is blended together. Place butter onto a sheet of plastic wrap and roll into a log shape. Keep refrigerated until ready to use.
