We’re proud to share that Wollersheim Winery has been named the recipient of the Syngenta Farmers Award at the International Biostimulants World Congress.

This recognition honors our commitment to sustainable and regenerative viticulture in the face of Wisconsin’s unique agricultural challenges.

For over 50 years, we’ve cultivated grapevines in a climate marked by deep freezes, spring frosts, and high humidity. Drawing on Philippe Coquard’s background in Beaujolais, France, we blend old-world expertise with innovative, nature-based techniques in our vineyard.

In 2021, Philippe, Vineyard Manager Robby Pertzborn, and Winemaker Céline Coquard Lenerz partnered with Larry Fiene of Planet Earth Agronomy in Black Earth, Wisconsin. With his guidance, we began using biostimulant technology—natural inputs that strengthen vine defenses, enhance soil health, and build long-term vineyard resilience.

Our approach is rooted in regenerative agriculture and a deep respect for the land’s future. We’re proud to lead the way in adopting sustainable practices that improve vine health and preserve the agricultural richness of this region for generations to come.

The Syngenta Farmers Award celebrates innovative growers who are redefining agriculture through science, sustainability, and stewardship—and we’re honored to be among them.
