Funny name. Tasty drink. The Sangaree is a wine-based cocktail that’s said to have been popular in colonial America. This re-imagined version by former Madison bartender Jim Meehan combines our vibrant Ruby Nouveau wine with Wisconsin Apple Brandy and maple syrup for a delicious taste of autumn.

Nouveau Sangaree

  • 2 oz Wollersheim Ruby Nouveau
  • 2 oz Wollersheim Wisconsin Apple Brandy
  • ¼ oz Maple Syrup
  • 2 dashes Angostura Bitters
  • Add wine, apple brandy, maple syrup and bitters to a mixing glass. Add ice and stir for 30-45 seconds. Strain into a chilled coupe glass. Garnish with apple slice sprinkled with cinnamon or nutmeg.
