Prairie du Sac, Wis – Wollersheim Distillery’s 1876 Press House Brandy has been awarded a Gold medal from the Tastings.com International Review of Spirits. Press House scored 90 Points and earned a rating of Exceptional in the category of Dark Brandy.

The Tastings.com International Review of Spirits is America’s oldest annual international Spirits competition and has been operated objectively for decades. It is a blind tasting, medal-based competition that awards based on a 100-point scale. Spirits are judged by Tastings.com’s trained staff joined by top Spirits professionals and buyers from retailers and restaurants using a proven, consistent, proprietary methodology developed in collaboration with Cornell University.

The Tastings.com review of 1876 Press House Brandy notes: “Medium gold color. Earthy aromas and flavors of leather, polished cedar, and dry raisin toast with a soft, crisp, dry light-to-medium body and a warming, compelling, medium-long dried citrus and herbs, straw and tobacco, and vanilla finish. A very interesting dry, rustic, and woody brandy reminiscent of an old Armagnac.”
