The Sugarloaf Cocktail is our variation on the “Treacle” cocktail created by London-based bartender Dick Bradsell. Our version substitutes Apple Brandy for Dark Rum. This cocktail is named for Sugarloaf Bluff on which the winery and distillery are located. The combination of apple and maple flavors create a delicious winter cocktail.

Sugarloaf Cocktail

  • 2 oz Wisconsin Apple Brandy
  • ½ oz Maple Simple Syrup*
  • ½ oz Apple Juice
  • 2 dashes Bittercube Cherry Bark Vanilla Bitters
  • Combine all ingredients in a mixing glass. Fill glass 3/4 full with ice. Stir 30 seconds and strain into an Old Fashioned glass over one large ice cube.

    *Maple Simple Syrup

Mix 1 cup maple syrup and ½ cup water in a pot and bring to a slow boil over medium low heat. Remove from heat and let cool. Keep stored in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 weeks.
