1 c granulated sugar
1 c Water
4 cinnamon sticks (broken into large pieces)

In a medium sauce pan, bring all ingredients to a boil over medium-high heat. Reduce heat to medium-low and let simmer for 10 minutes until sugar has dissolved, stirring frequently. Remove from heat and let cool. Strain into a clean glass jar, discarding cinnamon sticks, and cover with a lid. Store refrigerated for up to 3 weeks.
