Dry White Wine
A full-bodied rich and classy dry white with highlights of French oak and aromas of basil, vanilla and spice. This nicely balanced Chardonnay has been barrel fermented and aged in French oak for ten months to bring out its creaminess. "The best (Chardonnay) we've ever made." ~Winemaker Philippe
Grape: 100% Chardonnay, custom-grown in Washington state
Production Method: 100% malolactic fermentation. One third stainless steel fermented to retain floral, fruit flavors and two thirds barrel fermented. All aged in French oak, including "battonage" (stirring of the lees once a week).
Aging: ten months in French oak
Sweetness: dry
Alcohol: 13%
Serving Temperature: 50º - 58º
Ageability: 3-5 years

History: started making Chardonnay in 1978
The Wollersheim Winery sits on a scenic hillside overlooking the Wisconsin River, just across from Prairie du Sac, Wisconsin. This national historic site was selected by European vintners over 150 years ago and is one of America's oldest winery properties. Established as the Wollersheim Winery in 1972, today the vineyards are comprised of 25 acres of French-American and American hybrid grapes. This regional winery has received numerous Double Gold awards for its premium grape wines and has gained recognition as being one of the leading wineries in the Midwest.
